9:00 AM - 11:00 AM PTO Mtg - Choco Bar?
9:30 AM - 12:30 PM Grs. 3-5 Class Trip
SGES has a delayed opening today. Since sidewalks may be slippery, we encourage driving to school and dropping children on Bell Place by the building where our faculty and SGPD will assist the children to enter school safely. Students may enter the building at 9:45 AM. Homeroom begins at 9:50 AM. The snow is projected to end around lunchtime which will allow the time needed to clear roads and sidewalks for a safe dismissal. Dismissal will be at regular time, including the Pre-K class. Students will not have a morning snack, yet they will have lunch at the regular time.
Please join us Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 10:30-12:00 PM for crafts, games, and other fun activities around the school. Current students in Pre-K - 5th Grade are invited. We would also like to invite prospective tuition students. We are a recipient of the National Blue Ribbon for Academic Excellence with small class sizes and much more! Please click on the above heading for the registration link.

SGES has 8 standing desks throughout several classrooms. The height of the desks can be adjusted and there is a foot swing that students may choose to use for movement as they stand and work. Students choose when they wish to use them. Even some of the faculty have elected to use standing desks at times. The desks are popular and the teachers are supportive of giving the students the option to use them. Since the pilot was such a success, additional desks have been ordered so that there will be standing desks in all of the classrooms that would like them this year.

Your child’s safety and well-being are of utmost importance. Our school participates in a variety of safety drills. Our school participates in fire, severe weather, bus evacuation and emergency response drills throughout the school year to ensure our students and employees know what to do should an emergency situation occur. The SGPD or SGFD are present for most of our drills. The school administration regularly debriefs with them following the drill, then provides feedback to the staff and students. We appreciate the partnership between our school and the borough's safety experts.
