What was the measure of the wind on the Beaufort scale today?
It was a 3… There was a gentle breeze, so the flag flaps and leaves move.
CAUSE AND EFFECT
Great job, first grade!

As part of their Civics class, students partnered with the non-profit Each Stitch Counts to organize and execute a successful Dish Soap Drive. The students organized the collection, gathered donations, and loaded Ms. Trainor’s car for distribution. Each Stitch Counts, founded by former SGES Business Administrator Debbie Trainor, addresses a critical need identified through research: local food pantries require cleaning products like dish detergent, but often lack donations. The organization pairs bottles of detergent with handmade dishcloths supplied by its network of over 1,500 members worldwide. The collected dish soap will now be paired with dishcloths and distributed to local food pantries. Our kindergartners had a fantastic time spelling out their digraph words on our alphabet carpet today! This hands-on activity brought learning to life as students worked together to build and read their words. It was a fun, engaging, and productive way to strengthen their phonics skills while staying active. So proud of their hard work and excitement for learning! 💛📚

It’s fabulous when curriculums cross! Our 2nd graders read about artist, George Morrison, and his beautiful artwork—many of his pieces highlight horizon lines. They brought their knowledge of horizon lines into their own artwork during art with Miss MacIntosh. Thank you, Miss MacIntosh, for such a successful lesson! Great job, 2nd graders!!!
